I have no business writing about creativity. I can't tell someone how to be creative, where ideas come from, or how they materialize into amazing, finished pieces of great work. What I can do is share. I think this transcends from childhood into adulthood, and if you happen to be raising spawn; it's so incredibly important. That being said, I have no intention of being a "mom blogger." I just know this to be true about kids:
Teach them to share. Not just things but ideas. Learn from each other. Teach. Gather. Support. That’s it.
When it comes to creativity or inspiration, I really think it's as simple as surrounding yourself with things that fill you up. Music, books, people, things that make you happy. These things matter! As Austin Kleon, author of Steal Like an Artist suggests,
“You are, in fact, a mashup of what you choose to let into your life.”
Pick up all the pieces that interest you. Throw some in that you’ve created on your own. Everyone picks from the same pile. How each person chooses to put their puzzle together is extraordinary. Make things!
I hope you enjoy my silly little T-shirt designs. I'm having such a blast doing this, and I'll have some great things to share soon. Back to it.
